STP Update – Year 1 Rotations

Following meetings with the National School of Healthcare Science (NSHCS) it has been agreed that where all efforts have been exhausted and some or all of the rotations required during year 1 of training cannot be arranged. STP trainees can complete the competencies required through self-directed learning.

It should be noted that best practice for STP trainees requires full rotations in the relevant departments, therefore self-directed learning should only be used where all other plans have failed.

The ACE Executive Committee is looking for a new member to start from January 2019 as the Pre-Registrant Representative.  It is a voluntary role that represents all ACE members on route to registration.

What does the role involve?

  • Attendance at quarterly ACE Executive Committee Meetings to provide update on pre-registrant members.
  • Answering any questions from pre-reg ACE members and put forward any ideas/comments/concerns raised by pre-reg ACE members at the Executive Committee meetings.

Deadline extension for application for a 2019 entry STP!

The closing date for NHS and independent centres to apply for a 2019 entry STP has been pushed by one week so there is still time to complete the form. Please click here for the link.
