There are still research and outreach grants available for 2019:

· 2 x £1000 Research Grants

· 2 x £500 Outreach Grants

The intention of these grants is to support those doing small or pilot research studies, and to fund quality outreach materials to help members
educate the public about the work of Embryologists. ACE will expect the applicant to report Outreach projects in a short article in The Embryologist
and Research Projects should be communicated, where appropriate, by publication as a research paper, or as an oral/poster presentation at a

UK Nominations for the Queen’s NY2020 Honours deadline 4th March 2019!

ACE would like your support in recognising healthcare scientists and those working within healthcare science who merit state recognition. 

Why not nominate those colleagues who you work with who have made an outstanding impact for the New Year 2020 Honours?

Nominations can cover specific activities or a life time achievement.  Status or seniority isn’t important – what matters is what the person has done and the impact they have had on people’s health and care over a sustained period of time.

ACE members voted at the AGM in favour of the possible unification of societies to form ARCS!

Following the historic vote over the possibility of unification with the Association of Biomedical Andrologists and the British Andrology Society at our recent AGM, I am writing to inform you of the results. Those who were present at the AGM will be well aware that the membership voted by an overwhelming majority for ACE to move forward with our plans for a new society. 113 members voted in favour of the motion, with 4 against. International Conference Awards deadline Friday 1st February 2019!

Do you want to attend an International educational meeting but don’t have any funding? 

ACE in association with Hunter Scientific are able to offer Conference Awards to paid up members of the Association to enable them to attend relevant national and international scientific meetings, courses and events. 

Preference is given to those presenting at meetings, but this does include poster presentations.

The deadline for submitting your application for an International Conference Award is Friday 1st February.

STP Update – Year 1 Rotations

03 December 2018

Following meetings with the National School of Healthcare Science (NSHCS) it has been agreed that where all efforts have been exhausted and some or all of the rotations required during year 1 of training cannot be arranged. STP trainees can complete the competencies required through self-directed learning.

It should be noted that best practice for STP trainees requires full rotations in the relevant departments, therefore self-directed learning should only be used where all other plans have failed.
